Binnenkort ben ik jarig, het zal geen groot feest worden. Het nadeel van in de zomer jarig zijn is dat mensen vaak weg zijn als je jarig bent. Zo ook dit jaar. Mijn moeder weet al tijden niet meer wat ze me voor mijn verjaardag moet geven. Toen ik laatst met haar in Leiden was om garen te shoppen voor de Iris sjaal, liet ik vallen dat ik graag het boek "Victorian Lace Today" van Jane Sowerby wilde hebben. Ik heb haar toen ik bij Ribbels was een kijkje laten nemen in het showmodel (deze is helaas dus niet te koop bij Ribbels). Mijn moeder is op internet gaan zoeken en heeft hem voor me besteld. Nu kan ik dus niet wachten tot het boek binnen is. Ik wil het echt zoooooo graag hebben. Het is hier in Nederland enorm moeilijk te krijgen.
Soon it will be my birthday. It will not be a big party though. The downside of having a birthday in the summer is that people are often away on your birthday. As will be this year. My mom doesn't know what to buy as a present for years now. So when I was shopping in Leiden with her to buy yarn for the Iris Scarf, I mentioned that I really liked the book "Victorian Lace Today" by Jane Sowerby, and that I would love to have it. I showed her the showmodel at Ribbels (and since it is the showmodel it is not for sale there). My mom obviously liked it because she went looking on the internet and orderd it. Now I can't wait until it arrives. I really want this book sooooooooooo badly. It is really hard to come by here in the Netherlands
Zoals ik al had aangegeven, ben ik kort geleden begonnen met het patroon van de Iris sjaal. Hoewel het niet snel gaat, ben ik nu ongeveer 50 centimeter op weg. Van de 150 die het basispatroon moet gaan worden. Daarna komt er nog een mooi randje omheen. Daarom heb ik mezelf getrakteerd op een paar randpatronen van Debby Decker van Etsy. Nu hoef ik alleen nog maar een mooi randpatroontje uit te zoeken, basispatroon af te maken en de rand er om heen te fabrieken. Ik ben heel benieuwd
Like I said, a short while ago I started the pattern for the Iris Scarf. I am not really a speed knitter, I have knitted approximately 50 centimeters of the center pattern, out of the 150 that the finished centerpiece should be. After that I wil add a nice border. To this purpose I have treated myself to some edging patterns of Debby Decker from Etsy. Now all I have to do is pick out a nice edging, finish the centerpattern and add the border. I am really looking forward to see how the finished piece will look,
